Mua roi nuoc (water-puppet) is a unique kind of Vietnamese classical theatrical performance where artists control the main actors and actresses - the wooden puppets, through a system of strings, shafts and nets... There are traditional harmonies played by an orchestra along with the performances. This kind of art comes from the country's agricultural culture.

Popular figures such as chu Teu, fairies, the four holy beasts, kids herding water buffaloes... usually cause great impression on the audience. This is a unique and fascinating kind of art that uses many folklore materials, and is very popular in the Northern delta area. Hence, watching a show of water-puppet in Saigon to learn more about Vietnamese traditional culture is a very considerable choice.
